Hi everyone!

Thanks for making to our second meeting! I am already looking forward to our next meeting at Soyeba's place.

Executive Summary:

On May 16 1999 we met to discuss "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden. It was a lively discussion about many different topics. Among other things we heard about sex in China (or lack thereof :), the meaning of touching, and differences between genders when it comes to romantic fantasies: women can go for 20 years if need be; men tend to be done in 20 minutes.

We also welcomed our new member Sonja -- Thanks to Soyeba who invited Sonja to our club! -- Sonja appears to be a truly dedicated member: only yesterday she bought the book, and by today's meeting she's read more than half of the book!

Towards the end, the following books were suggested as potential books for future reading:

"On the Road", by Jack Kerouac
"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", by Robert Pirsig
"Enemies A Love Story", by Isaac Bashevis Singer
"An Intimate History of Humanity", by Theodore Zeldis
"A Suitable Boy", by Vikran Seth
"Lolita", by Nabokov
"Lost in Translation", by Eva Hoffman

By powers vested in me by the members, the next book to be read and discussed is: "A Suitable Boy", by Vikran Seth.

The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 26 1999. at Soyeba's place. The time was not set. It will be at Soyeba's discretion. Soyeba will also send the address/directions in an e-mail.

Branko

P.S. Can someone please forward this to Sonja? I checked the bookclub, but there is no sign of her presence there anywhere...
